    Newspapers publishers will sell you what is left on a roll of newsprint very cheaply and it is enough to last several lifetimes.

    I use old cutting mats, they will cut with scissors.

    I use tissue paper and tracing paper, and what ever I find in the house I can use, as I can't even afford a quilting template. God bless. Penny

    Me too. There are sheets in packages of about 6 and they have grids in red also.
    Does Hancock or Joanns carry these? How expensive?

    I use the newsprint also because there is no ink to worry about. I also tape this to the side of my metal shed outside to spray baste. Works like a charm.
