I LOVE this thread!! So many different and not so different reasons for our "handles"!
Mine is shawnemily after my 1st 3 grandkids! Yup. I did say 3! I said to my kids one day when we were sitting around at camp; "I want to be a grandma while I am young enough to enjoy them!" They all laughed and pointed to each other and it worked! :) My first beautiful grandson Shawn; was born to my oldest daughter on May 22 1997; but her brother (my son) Shawn; was battling cancer. Of course she wanted to name him after her big brother. He was so proud of his little namesake! 2 weeks later we found out that my Shawn's wife was pregnant! My Shawn passed away July 1st, 1997 and his perfect little miracle was born on Jan 1st, 1998. Of course he would be named after his Daddy :) There is enough love in our family for 100 Shawn's! Then on March 5th 1998 my youngest daughter had an adorable baby girl named Emily. I got my first computer shortly after and my "handle" became shawnemily! I now have 8 perfect grandkids; 4 & 4 and have a few other handles to keep them all happy but that is where mine came from! :)

Last name is Phillips and my dad would call me Fanny as a kid. I was trying once to set a name up and the suggestion came up with PHanna. I changed it a little and came up with Phannie but it was taken so 1 was added to make it different. I have been told that it was sexy....not!

That is my favorite Rod Stewart song too. In fact...I was debating about changing my name to Maggie...my middle name is Kay so I thought Maggie Kay would be nice. I told my mother and she had a FIT about it because she named me after some ice skater that she liked. So...when my mother passed away in 2000 I thought...now I CAN do it but then I thought how much it would have hurt her so I decided against it.

My screen ID is Cybrarian because I am a school Librarian or "Media Specialist" [I really dislike that title] and a few years ago the ALA [American Library Association] proposed we be called "Cybrarians" because we are librarians [book focused] and deal with all things Cyberspace as well. It didn't catch on but my principal loved this and when he is giving tours of our school he always introduces me as the "Cybrarian" because I'm so much more than a Librarian. [Okay it's a little old to me, but it peaks their interest and gives me a way to point out the positives in our library]. I haven't had to choose a different screen name yet when I've used it!

Trolley station....Named for our home. In 1995 we bought a VERY run down older home. It was built in 1897 and originally was the trolley station for our village. The trolley was called the Sunshine Trolley because it seemed to run best when the weather was nice. The trolley company went bankrupt in 1903. the building was then moved and used as an insurance office. It was then moved again to it's present location and after 7 months of remodeling became our home. It is on a great lot in the center of our village and we could not ask for a more comfortable place to live.

Diamondrose is the name of my boxer. When I pulled her from the shelter a friend was with me. When I ask for suggestions on what her name should be he said it should be Diamond because she has a big white diamond on her chest, but no idea why he added the rose to it. The name fits her to a T though as she is a rare gem.

Well if I used my initials because my last name is hyphenated I would have been PMS, but thought nope better not so it's P(for Pam) L (for Lee) M (for Moiser) and Smith all mushed together. Ok my hubby also set my e-mail like that thought it would be easier for me to remember.

When I was needing a 'name' I asked my DD who was 10 at the time. She was using hippychicky on some of her games and things, and because she still adored me, she decided I should be mamahippychicky. She is now 15 ...need I say more LOL
