It's a play on the German "wunderbar" (wonderful) - my mother's family is German, my Dad's English/Irish/ScotsIrish. Since my first name begins with "Mar," my online ID is Wunder-Mar.

Rose is part of my name and also a family name. Both my daughters have Rose as a middle name, my grandmother was Rosa Lee and my niece is Rosalie. I'm also an Eastern Orthodox Christian and a choir director. Since I chant Byzantine chant, I have used byzantinerose for eons. (Or as is in the Orthodox services "unto ages of ages. Amen"!)

I really hope 'RippedonScotch' is reading this thread. Can't wait to hear the story behind that name!!!
I had to ask her and it is not what you think.

Mine is the first of many I tried that wasn't already taken. Great minds, obviously.

Great fun reading all the entries here.
I love your name and the avatar is perfect.
