What's a good price for fat quarters?

In my city, we have a HUGE fabric store named Best Fabrics. The local movie producers use this store because the selection is overwhelming! On the checkout counter is two boxes full of fat quarters at $1.00 per FQ. Is this a good price?
Also, here's a couple pics of the inside of the store and warehouse:

I haven't bought any yet. Looks like I will be going back and picking up a bunch.
Oh, I did pick up 8 1/2 yards of muslin for $3.50 a yard and lace fabric for $4.99 a yard to make new curtains for the windows in my kitchen, dining room and living room. The windows are small and I'm going to blend the muslin with some flowery fabric that I picked up from an estate sale a couple years ago.

If it is quality cotton quilt fabric then the price is $2.50 to $2.75 here. I buy fat quarters from Keepsakes Quilting, 100 for $99. So $1 is a very good price. Walmart here has $1 fat quarters but they are not good quality.

Fat quarters in Ontario Canada sell for $2.50 to $4.50 each. Our guest speaker at our guild meeting last week was selling fat quarters for landscape quilts at $6.00 each! Canadian quilters would be thrilled to find fat quarters at $1 each and would really enjoy shopping at that warehouse. Fabric and quilting stores are in short supply in my area and even our Wal-marts no longer sell fabric.
