People kept giving my dad bandana hankerchiefs. As you know, they never wear out. He is limited in space at the nursing home so I took the hankerchiefs home and made a ragged quilt (lap sized) for him. He laid it on his bed and invited everyone to come in to see his "hankerchief" quilt...

Honestly? Well, that would be "Do you mind if I copy this one?" or "Do you mind if I use your idea?"

Sorry, but I have another. My SIL told my DD that he just couldnt believe that I would take so much time and effort to make something like that for him.

I gave one of my first quilts to a favorite aunt. She called me the next day saying she felt covered in love. Priceless

I made the purses (3) that you can change the handles for my 5 year old niece. They were the hit of the party and I was asked to give sewing lessons. That makes you feel like your work is appreciated.

I made a signature quilt for a friend's 80th birthday. Every year when the cooler weather comes and it goes from display to a real lap quilt she makes a point of telling me how much she enjoys re-reading all the loving comments, and she's told me it's the best gift anyone ever gave her. She strongly hinted she'd like another one (red, white and blue) for her 90th which was earlier this week on July 4th. It's almost finished.

I made one for a friend's mother (disabeled, and in a lazy boy chair almost all the time now)...she wrote me the sweetest note just to tell me thank you and how surprised she was that someone who didnt even know her would make such a wonderful surprise for her!

The quilt group at our little neighborhood church (Peace by Piece) made a sampler quilt to raise money for cancer in memory of a dear friend who passed away from liver cancer. We raised over $5000! A fitting memorial for a great lady.
