Not a color scheme I would have chosen, just a little to blah, no offense. There is no "pop" to it - just wonder if a dark blue would have helped. I do like the pattern and we are all learning everyday and as stated before, there are many people who would love this quilt. All quilters are just too critical of their own work.

I like the design and the focal fabric. The other three are just "flat" solid colors from what the picture shows. I always try to use solids sparingly and go for geometrics or subtle strips or small prints. But it is a nice quilt all the same.

It doesn't have a pop. Perhaps if you added a smaller 'breaker' border of the yellow/gold color between the print border and the red it would give it a finished framed look. I don't think it is a bad looking quilt, just needs a bit of pizzaz. It may just be that those are not your colors, so it is harder to like it (I have a really hard time working with things that have a lot of orange in them because I really don't like the color orange.)

I think that is is just fine, a nice Christmas quilt. Sometimes when I work on something, I don't like it but, if you put it away for a while and take it out, I seem to like it better. Good luck.

quilter, It is a great pattern and the colors perfectly match the print. And the pattern is perfectly balanced. But, I just don't care for the colors together. I too feel like you do. Something is off. I wonder if the gold was a darker gold if I would like it better. Either way, It is a very nice, warm and usable quilt. And, it will match someone's taste perfectly.
