What's your fabric "personality"?

I love the green/sage/tan/rusts. Love civil war muted. Use small print blenders, and beige backgrounds. When I started I made larger quilts. Lately I've been more interested in doing wall hangings, applique, and table runners. I still buy fabric for quilts I see that I like...just haven't made them yet. Probably have 5 different ones waiting to be done! space limits me to twelve small totes for my stash...I'm overflowing...better get going!!

I love a lot of different fabrics in the store, but now I limit myself to what I'll mostly use. Other than a few baby or child projects occasionally, I'm sticking to solids or nearly solids as I'm really all about the quilting. I don't want my quilting or the texture it creates to disappear into a print.
I do more whole cloth or nearly wholecloth quilts plus some applique.

I gravitate toward brights and Asian fabrics. Also love, love, love black and white (can we consider these colors?) because of the sharp contrast. My favorite type of quilting is paper piecing or foundation piecing. Favorite pattern would have to be Log Cabin (and all the variations) and Pineapples with many, many pieces. Favorite quilt size to make: wall hanging or lap quilt. What I will never make: table runners. Have no use for them...maybe for a gift, but not for myself.

I like blues, yellows, light beige to brown and greens. That said I have kids prints, patriotic, Thimbleberries, Kansas Troubles, homespuns, reproductions (though not very many 30's), black and white left from a project I did which I over bought for and most of the holidays. Oh and to go along with Valentine's Day I have two bins of red. Don't like florals or modern fabrics.

My family isn't into flowery prints so I stay away from those. Small flower sprays are ok in small pieces though. I go from pastels to brights. Textured patterns, filigree patterns to environmentals. I like making scrappy quilts with mostly pieces from my stash. My clothes are mainly jeans and t-shirts or tank tops. Blues are my go to color, but I like them all and my t-shirts reflect what my jeans do not! Comfortable, homey and welcoming I would think. :-)

I like almost every color, not always all shades. I have lots of colors, I want to be able to pick out fabrics from my stash without going shopping. I am trying now to get all scraps used up and blocks I cut out before rotary cutters became popular. I will see if I can get this done before I go back to using my large yardage pieces.
