I've been to Columbus for NQA, Cinn. and Paducah KY. Liked all of them, but Paducah was my favorite. So much to see and do. Fantastic quilt museum. Stay at least 3 days if you go and get strawberry shortcake from the Boy Scouts!

I went to Paducah the year of the flood and they had to move the show (with only a few days notice!) out of the convention center because it was behind the flood wall. Those folks did an absolutely AMAZING job moving the entire show to various places in the city! If they did that good of a job with a few days notice ... I cannot imagine how wonderful the show is when it is in the convention center. I must say though, it was fun going around the city (a small town really) to the various places.
I want to go to Paducah again, but I also want to see the Houston show and the Long Beach show.
I've also attended the IQS show when it was in Chicago - that was a fantastic show. Now it's in Cincinnati so you might consider that one.

I live on the West coast.. The quilt show in Sisters Oregon is great! There are a variety of classes all the week before, many quilt associated activities: the show itself is always on the Saturday after the 4th of July, and held out doors all over town. There are quilts hung inside all the stores as well. Word to the wise: if you plan to go,make room reservations ASAP. Get on their website on Jan 1 and get you class requests out really early..I send mine out on Jan 2.
I'm going with DH in our RV the week before and will be sewing on the picnic table with a longggg extension cord

Paducah is the place to go, I have been three times and only wish i could go again but thats not in the cards any more. Age and DH who is disabled, an I am the caregiver. But the memories I have are great. I have been to the Mancouso shows and also to Houston but Paducah rates right up on top.

The Mancuso Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival in Virginia is very close by so I go every day & sleep in my own bed at night!
very nice show! I went to The NQA show in Columbus once with my DH. Good show. An absolutely wonderful experience is Paducah. Been there 3 times and going in 2013. So much to see and do in addition to the show itself.....the quilt museum, Eleanor Burns show & tent sale, Caryl Bryer Fallert's store, plus the whole town is full of quilt related things to see. Shopping is unbelievable! Can't wait til April! Go if you can.
