I couldn't care less about the waste of fabric when I can get perfect flying geese everytime when using the one seam method (Ricky Timms) or die cuts. I have tried every method known, have every speciality ruler made, for flying geese. I will try other new to me methods when I find out about them.

Do you have Mary Sue Suit's book "All the Blocks Are Geese"? There's not a special ruler for making flying geese her way. She uses one large square and one small square, right sides together. I was wondering if you've tried that method, and your opinion. TY for any insight....
It isn't fast enough for me. LOL

Everyone is mentioning they love their Eleanor Burns geese rulers. I have them and mine (the small set) are off by around 1/16 to 1/8 inch on the sides so it made my geese too narrow. I had to put them away and get a different set of rulers. Did I just get a mis-manufactured set??

I've never been able to make a flying goose look right until I tried Ricky Timms method. They are very fast and turn out perfect! This is the only method I use now. It only makes one at a time, but boy do they look nice!!!

jcrow--I am confused about what you say of no waste. It appears to me that HALF of the fabric used is wasted on the back side of the geese block?? Am I understanding the directions and the video correctly? Also, the geese "roof" is not sewed down (the video referred to it as a pocket) so it doesn't seem very functional. If you are referring to a different method I would love to be pointed in the right direction. I've only just started using geese in my quilts and it wasn't an entirely fun experience.
