When to press washed fabric?
#1
I am one who washes all my fabric. As you all know some fabrics need to be presses. Do you press right after you wash or when you are ready to use the fabric.
I normally do after the wash, but now I have a whole new batch, but don't feel like pressing the whole big batch.
So, I was wondering what you all do.

I don't usually iron my washed fabric until right before I use the fabric. I used to iron right away but after the fabric sits folded for a while it usually has to be ironed again to get the creases out, so I figured why not wait until I'm ready to use it.

I used to press mine as soon as it was dried, but then had to press it again before I cut it. Now I take it out of the dryer as soon as it cuts off and if it isn't too wrinkly, I just fold it. Then I press what I need before cutting.

I usually press/iron it right before cutting it. No point in pressing it twice before cutting it (usually).
It usually is relatively wrinkle free when I take it out of the dryer (or off the line) so I just smooth it out with my hands when I fold it.
Once in a while there is a really rumpled one - that one I will iron before putting it on the stack - just to make it fold better.

I wash, fold and put away. I don't think I've ever pulled a piece of fabric out of my stash that was washed and pressed and not have to do it again. Besides, when I'm ready to use it that's when I starch it. I don't starch and store.
