I lost a watch once--was sure it had gotten into the trash with some red fuzzy fabric clippings. Even went to the city dump and asked if they knew where our trash had been dumped--I was sure that if they looked for red fuzzy fabric, they would find my watch. Of course, they laughed at me. My son, who was about 7 at the time was fascinated by the "bulldozers" driving back and forth at the city dump and thought that it was a great adventure. Several weeks later, the kids were palying with their LEGO blocks and my watch appeared. Had been there all the time.

For shame for shame, the blade is open on one. You should be glad it did not fall on you.

I rarely shut them. I hang them up and the kids are not allowed to play anywhere near them. I know they are always open and I handle them accordingly. I can't stand the ones that close automatically. It sets off my claustrophobia at having something move without my doing it. I have child locks in my van that drive me insane!! They lock as soon as you close the door and I feel like I can't breathe when they do that! A Phobia I know but for some unknown reason it has extended to having anything done automatically. I don't have control and that drives me nuts! So I leave them open. I don't suppose I have nicked myself but a couple of times and that was earlier on when I first started using a cutter.

It's nice to know others have the same problem I do, and I would like to know where that safe place is.
