When you sew do you sew barefoot, socks on or shoes?

Barefoot - or socks if its really cold. My sewing room is in my basement so I usually have slippers on and 'slip' one off to sew and 'slip' it back on when I get up. I guess that's why they are called slippers! I also find it easier to find the foot control without shoes.
