When you sew do you sew barefoot, socks on or shoes?

Prefer sox so I can feel the "accelerator". I have a collection of heavy duty hunting type sox from Wal Mart. I cut the elastic off and use them for slippers for sewing or relief when feet ache which they do late in day. Wouldn't do that if I had carpet due to risk of needle or pin punctures. I lot of teachers require shoes in class at least for cutting to avoid having to call 911 when someone drops a rotary cutter. Make sense to me.

Gayle and anyone else who suffers from foot issues - join the crowd. I have had serious injury with not very good recovery along with hammer toe surgery with so-so recovery. My shoes are on and off. I have had good luck with OhrthaHeel shoes which don't come cheap by any means but have good effect on overpronation and totally flat arch. For everyone - I spent a fair amount of money on Chef's Mat (a gel filled mat) for cutting table and just recently to place in front of my kitchen counters. When I have a lot of ironing to do I just slide it from the cutting table to the iron. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! You can get them at Bed Bath and Beyond and probably most kitchen shops.
