Where can I purchase batting by the bolt? I have a Hancock Fabrics and a Joanns about 30 miles away. I haven't been to the Joann Fabrics so I'm not sure what they carry. I'm kind of looking for some place online but don't want to pay a lot for shipping.

You might consider www.fabricdepot.com. Am not sure what the charge is for shipping. It might be worth checking as they do carry a lot of fabric with 30% off for internet purchases.

I would just make a trip. right now my Joanns has it for 6.99 a yard and there is a 10% off total purchase including sale items. hubby already put the kabosh on that for me though.

Local Hobbs distributor will sell to you retail.
Depending on where you live she can deliver, minimizes shipping.

Your id is prarie girl, so are you near the Kansas City metro? If so, I can give you her name.. PM me.

She does shows all over the midwest, had a friend in Iowa that ordered from her.

Joann.com - sometimes they will offer free shipping.

That's how I got 17 yards ( all that was left on the bolt) for my Guild's charity work; I had a one-day-only 60% off.
    Instead of $8, I paid $3.20/yard

Joanne's carries it by the yard, so you can buy a bolt with a coupon. May find it cheaper online, but the shipping might be an issue.

I buy a bolt from Joann's online with the 50% coupon. Even with shipping it's still much cheaper and I don't have to lug the huge box home. :)

    Lasts me 2 years.

I can still buy Warm and Natural by the bolt at Walmart. I buy a bolt of natural color and the pure white. The fabric dept manager orders a bolt of each for me when I need it. Any Walmart 'celebration' dept manager can order the batting from the WalMart warehouse even if the store doesn't sell it. If they say they can't, they are just getting out of doing it. But some are so clueless they really think they can't. Just call the main office and they will inform the store manager to handle it.
