Where can I find.....

Where can I find.....
...a pattern (or the dimensions) of the churn dash in which the first and third row of the nine patch are smaller than the middle row? I've seen these blocks and find them interesting. Is there a name for this block or is it just a variation of the churn dash? Thanks for the help.

You could make the dimensions whatever you want. The churn dash that intrigues me is the Liberated Churn Dash here - http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/quilt...sh-quilt/21332

cjsews, thanks. I figured I could do that but was wondering if there was an "appropriate" proportion. I had thought that for a 12" finished block, that perhaps the first row and last row would be 3 1/2" and the middle would be 5"?
And, thanks dunster for the link. That is one wild churn dash! I love it, but wouldn't know where to start. I have problems wrapping scrappy around my brain.

Oh wow, Dunster, that "liberated" churn dash will stay liberated from my studio!! Do NOT like those random, sharp, pointy disturbing things all over the quilt -- I was actually surprised at my immediate visceral reaction to this quilt, haha!! Never thought I'd ever see a quilt I absolutely hated.

I found, when your response appeared this morning, that I couldn't even go back and check the picture of that liberated churn dash again!! It makes me feel all weird inside.
Weird how much I do not like that one.

Jan I am in complete agreement with you...made me dizzy and I would not be putting my efforts into making this quilt and I usually have an appreciation for most quilt, but this to too far a stretch for me.
