    Peckish,
Found some youtubes by Yoko Saito. Very impressive. I learnt a lot from just one video!

I contacted my LQS and asked for a recommendation for someone to teach me one-on-one. I then met with the woman in her home, and she showed me a few different methods for me to try. She charged a minimal amount (but I insisted she take more), and then I went home and tried each until i found one that worked for me. From there, practice! I'm not saying I'm quilt show ready, but I could see improvement from my first block to my 30th. Maybe one-on-one would be good for you as well?
