I`m sort of new to this wonderfull board and I would love to join a block of the month to be able to practice different block types. This section is so rich in information with so many posts that I dont know where to start. Is this information available anywhere?

Hi Southern124! I just joined the board a few weeks ago. If you are looking for quilt blocks within this group - start with this group. They are posting one quilt block each month.

There is a quilt block of the week () that is just finishing up this month. The leader of this quilt-along plans to start another in September. http://www.quiltingboard.com/blocks-...a-t208380.html
One more idea - go to the Member Swaps section and jump in one of the available fat quarter swaps or block swaps. Those are awesome for making new 'friends' and gaining new fabrics. Jump on in!!

Another great place is craftsy.com. They have free quilt block of the month classes. You can buy fabric from them or just use your own. Classes can be reviewed forever no expiration date.

If you go to quilters cache.com, you will find a million block patterns for free.

Even if you join a BOM here, www.quilterscache.com is a good place to go for directions.

qm is right. the advantage of the board's bom is you get to meet board members and chit chat, and show your block, and get help if you're blocked (ooo, bad pun! sorry 8-)). welcome to the board!! we sure have a lot of fun and lots of support and virtual hugs when needed too!
