Funny, but I head to the cutting table to talk to my friend Lora, the owner, once there I see what other people have been getting because she has it out there behind the counter. I have found there new fat quarters. She only cuts fat quarters after someone opens the bolt, so I may get the first FQs. I then go to the gadgets and only go to the fabric if I need some. No point looking if I am broke. I have been there for a whole hour to come out with a pack of needles. That usually means I am broke, but can always use new needles.

I usually do the sale fabric first and have more than once shopped and checked out only to realize I didn't get what I went in there for.

I start by the door and try and wined my way around the store. Getting a stroller through the isles many times is a challenge. and add in keeping my daughter from pulling out the bolts and things from racks and the wall is always fun too. I love fabric. I think that I would just collect yards and yards of it even if I didn't quilt. It is just so pretty and soft. well most of the time. I would be broke if I went to the LQS as much as I want to. When I do buy it seems like I can't get out for under $50. Why must fabric be so expensive?!?!?!?!

Batiks, then I check the batiks out again just in case I overlooked something. I once went to a brand new (to me) quilt store & spend the whole time in the batik section....I forgot to look at the rest!!!! If I have time I will then check out the rest of the store starting at the right side of the door & working my way around. If I have to hurry it's the sale rack & a quick once over the rest after I am sure I studied the batiks enough.

I head for whatever is on my list so I get business out of the way, then I look at everything.

It depends on the shop. My local shop I head for the sale table. The other local shop, I look through all the florals and stuff first. Another shop I look at the oriental fabrics and batiks first.

I like to find their sales tables. They are always so much fun. Then on to the bright colors.
