So now I have 42 circles and rings that don't fit, and they just sit. Not sure what to do with them. The rubbish bin seems like a good idea, but can't bring myself to toss them
Well, how about pot holders? Or just appliqué onto square and go from there......purse, market bag, etc......

I now have an excuse when I make a huge blunder (lol). When I had open heart surgery a couple of years ago, I was on the heart/lung machine for 5.5 hours. I lost about 24-36% of my "little grey cells" so I have been learning to cope ever since. Some of my brain has come back, but the rest is gone forever. I, however, soldier on.

You are not alone, we all do that. Sometimes, I will start to try to figure out something in my head, and it will seem impossible, then that lightbulb moment comes, and I feel so stupid! Always great when it ends in your favor though, nothing worse than being short, and not enough of the fabric left!

Don't feel bad... I discovered the advice "measure twice, cut once" doesn't help if you cut from the wrong color. I bought a kit from Connecting threads, ordered required amount of discontinued fabric to also make in different color scheme and decided to make that one first. Directions were in color so I cleverly made copy of all 6 fabrics and pasted little squares on copy of kit sheet. After I cut everything and began sewing I discovered I would be sewing nearly identical shades of blue together instead of white to blue. Fortunately I had enough fabric to correct... so far.

Oh yes! I have made too many blocks a few times. But, I have managed to find a way to use them up. It is kind of nice to have a project half finished before you start. LOL!

You did it on purpose, I'm sure because NOW you have extra blocks for another project.

You are not alone my friend. Sometimes even when working on blocks I've made dozens of times, there have been these major "Sr. Moments" where I'm not sure how to put the block together, never mind the math to get to the block. Some days my mind works and other days it's on vacation.

Sounds like a nightmare quilt and we have all experienced at least one in our history
