Where is your sewing machine? A good tip
I watched a video the other day and the teacher said she always has her sewing machine table against a wall so that the quilt never drops while FMQ.
I thought this was a great idea and wanted to pass it on. I can't remember who is was- I think it was the day Craftsy offered free classes for the day and I binged.
Mine is in the middle of the room and I'm thinking of moving it. I need all the help I can get

i am exactly opposite.
the last thing i want is my quilt bunching up behind the machine.
i must have space between the back edge of my table and the wall, whether i'm piecing or quilting.

I have mine against the wall, but I have a wider table so there is a decent amount of room behind the machine. I don't FMQ, but I do chain piece and don't like the chain to fall down and end up with a pile around my feet.
When I'm putting on binding, I move another machine farther down the table and put one of my stools next to me to help support the quilt.

I've taken a lot of machine quilting classes and all instructors say start out with the table in the corner of the room for a large quilt. I have an Arrow table that opens up to a large U shape and I have that in the corner. There is plenty of room that the quilt doesn't bunch up much but stops at the wall. LA takes up a lot of room, machine quilting set ups will take up room too in order to have a comfortable less hassle set up.
