A wonderful ending for an almost disasterous day.

Well, the rule is that IF you cut through a block by accident (or the top) it WILL cut the very fabric that you have NO extra and CAN'T get more. Glad you managed to avoid the horrors.

So heart breaking when something goes wrong and you can't get any matching fabric. So happy you worked yours out so well.

Good luck finding a suitable fabric so you can finish your quilt.

My oops! moments have primarily come as a result of cutting myself with the rotary cutter - After the third time, my son, said Mom, have a pair of protective gloves on me! That problem's solved. It's just far too easy to cut yourself with a rotary cutter! That rotary cutter can be called a dangerous instrumentality! LOL!

Oh, wow! So glad it wasn't a loss! Yes, I've been there, done that--and the feeling stays with ya! But that's good, because the fear of doing it again motivates to clear, clear, clear away anything that's not supposed to get cut!
The old "measure twice, cut once" motto? I "look 3 times, measure twice, cut once"!

Amen to that adage! I usually check repeatedly but, of course, was in a hurry to just get this last block done...which is today's project!

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies!! But - on we must tread, and the challenge is to improvise the solution! Sounds like you made it thru all the curves in the road!

I started hyper ventilating reading your post! Then you had a good outcome afterall, so I can relax. Yea. Been there. Done that.
