I have one (husband) like that! He does so much to support my "habit".....my sewing room is a delight and my haven....he did lighting, speakers for my opera, finds great things on the roadsides...lol, recessed my machine into a counter top, and never complains about whatever I buy or wherever I go.
He's a keeper.
I have 3 machines and a serger....he understands that I NEED them, and if ever I find something at GoodWill....I will snatch it up. But I never do......I just see junk.
I love the old 1954 Singer, posted here recently. Mine is a 99 Model and I still love it. It's a workhorse and great for kids to learn on. Paid $99 for it in 1955....in a lovely walnut cabinet, with 6 weeks of free lessons. What a bargain. Never to be found again, I fear. I love my Viking, but will never part with the Singer or the Kenmore....which is also a good little machine.
