Who does not use a walking foot on their DSM???
#104
I have a Bernina Virtuosa 160, and bought a walking foot a couple of years ago. I only do lap quilts-60x80-and back all of them with fleece. I use the decorative stitches for my quilting, and with fleece for backing, it moves along so nicely. I used to have problems with the fleece puckering, but not any more. So, yes, I use mine, for quilting, sewing on binding, and doing long strips. I would not be without it. I have a Kenmore that I use for most of my small piecing.

I always did use one, didn't know any different...then found at my lqs most of the gals didn't use one...and actually I had some trouble when I did use mine, the stitches would start out pretty, and then get smaller and tighter...like the walking foot wasn't helping at all...so I quit using it. I have a Brother PC-420, and recently got the Brother PQ1500S...it actually has a built in pin feed, which really makes the walking foot unnecessary. My lqs owner has the Janome Memory craft 10001, she never uses a walking foot. Another friend has a Babylock, she never uses one either...

I didn't normally use one, but then I noticed when I was sewing around the edges, the top was wanted to push away from the needle and was causing puckers. I decided to try it around the edge and it worked wonders.
