ditto here....but then I get those inexpensive blades at Harbor Freight, why in the world do I worry about the $$$.

What is it with us? I always wait too long. My DH noticed the trouble I was having (exactly what you said) and asked me why I don't change the blade. So I did. Wow, forgot how nice a new blade works. DH asked, "Why did you wait so long to change the blade? You bought a new one months ago." Told him "I'm saving it." What for I don't know. We both got a good laugh out of it. But seriously, I think it because they get dull so fast and they aren't cheap.

Oh yes. I started my hand quilting class with a dull blade. Hadn't used it on so long that I didn't know it was dull as dishwater. I got to thinking that maybe I should change it after the kids were struggling to get their projects cut. Amazing what a difference it makes. Like cutting butter! Gotta lay in a supply of spares. LOL.

Sometimes my 45 mm blades start skipping, and I haven't even used them that much! It surprises me when I get a good sharp cut!

I only read the first page so don't know if anyone else has this problem. I dropped the new blade and cut one of my figures as the blade made its way to the floor. It was a very shallow cut, but what a mess. I was in the house by myself and the only way I got it to stop most of the bleeding was to pore liquid new skin all over my figure and then quickly cover it. It healed in days, but now the thought of changing another blade.....
