I'm with you, nygal. I went one year, but that was only because they had shirts on sale that I wanted for me. I shop for Christmas year round. I have several people that are difficult to buy for, so if I see something that is perfect for them, I get it right then.

Only problem is, when my girls were young, I sometimes forgot where I'd put them and found them months after Christmas. By the next Christmas, they no longer wanted/needed it or had outgrown it.

Never go out then. I do my shopping online because I hate shopping on the best of days!

No way, I worked retail too many years and hate shopping any day. I enjoy being home and not having to work holidays and I hate crowds.

my quilt shop has sales all weekend. i wouldnt go out into the craziness for anything. i think its a shame that stores are opened thanksgiving or thanksgiving night. people cant even enjoy themselves and their families. nothing but money hungry store owners. these stores wouldnt open if we didnt go patronize them. i for one will stay home. there is nothing i need so badly.

I have been shopping on BF for over 20 years, I am going this year too, not sure where, but not to JoAnn's. I am looking at the new Ipad air that you get a 100 gift card to the store for purchasing...Plus I have 15% off.

I have many fond memories of guerilla shopping on Black Friday, but haven't done so for about five years now. I don't need anything except an itouch for my mom.

I haven't seen whether my quilt shops will have special deals yet. That might interest me.

I have been making a 100 mile drive to the closest city with my daughter and my sister for the last five years. It is the only time I really get to spend with my sister during the holidays as she lives far away. We do more people watching then shopping and meet local friends for lunch and compare shopping experiences. Joanns will be on the list, and maybe a LQS if they have a good special. It is hard to explain why I am so willing to fight the crowds, but we always seem to have a great time.
