Barbare Brackman has designed a few series for Moda ( and a beautiful new line is coming soon: "just arrived from London" and Judy Rothernel has designed great fabriclines for Marcus fabrics (like Old sturbridge village) Both base their designs on original patterns.

Here's a quilt I designed and made with Judie Rothermel's Cocheco II collection. The fabric is drop dead gorgeous! The pattern is free on Marcus's website. And if you are looking for the kit, it is available at http://www.nancyrinkdesigns.com.

(by the way, wait till you see what she's put together for Cocheco III--so yummy!)

And the second photo is quilt I made with another of Judie's collections called Civil War Tribute.

Judy Rothermel designs by Marcus Brothers.
    RJR/Kitchen Sink
    Storybook by Windham.

All the above seem to make true-to-form repros.

Interesting thread, even if it was posted 12 years ago.
