I have made many using the technique in the book "Accidental Landscapes" by Karen Eckmeier

Morning - Made a simple one a couple years ago and love the free-hand drawing with cutter to achieve a scene. I have two others started plus a drawer full of landscaping and fat quarters suitable for the projects. Now all I need is a little inspiration to get-er-done.

I have done one, but would like to do more. They are kinda of intimidating when you see the pros quilts. I guess like all things practice makes perfect. I teach that to my quilters, so don't tell them I said this, LOL

I have Nancy Zeimans landscape book and love it. I have done a few and am working on more. They don't look they way I want them to look but I guess it is like everything, you just have to practice a lot. I also like the Accidental Landscape book.

This was a class that I took last winter at our quilt guild. Can't remember the name of our teacher. But she made it seem very simple and it was. Its raw edge appligue. We used the freezer paper technique to transfer the shapes to our fabrics and attached with wonder under. But, I used a glue stick on some of my pieces and I felt it worked just as well and I had more control since I could reposition easier if I desired.

I'm trying to make one. It has a sun and a pieced sky. Getting the yellows and blues to blend is hard and I have to go buy more medium blues. After I get the sky pieced (it is in diamonds) I'll put pine trees in--may do it by raw edge applique on the machine. It is a simple view but very hard to do if you don't have the right colors. I'm a traditional piecer but thought I'd try a simple (!!) landscape.

That is beautiful, ddrobins, I have recently bought the Landscape quilts book by Nancy Zieman. Got it for $9.00 which included shipping on half.com. Great price. Love the way her and Natalie work, and I plan to get one done soon. (along with so many other things)

I haven't done one yet but collecting fabric for the pattern that I bought the first week I started quilting. It is the reason I started quilting but haven't been brave enough yet.

I need more batiks for it. It is one of the famous water falls in the mnts.
