Me! I think that is a great use of fabric. We are going to cut it up anyway. I love how beautiful & stained glass window-like they are! An old saying is "Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without."

I've made one of these quilts...a king-size for my first try and it came out beautifully. I too had trouble visualizing the sashing so I contacted the author and she did a video on YouTube for me then she sent me a sample. She's wonderful!

I just checked out a scrappy book at the Library that is a quilt as you go and a deco stitch book.
It is called "Crazy Shotcut Quilts" by McManus and Raffuse.
The instructions for connecting the squares was confusing, I really need to see videos to get the concept. I know it calls for separate sashing strips for the front and back but how to connect them I did not understand. The book uses fat quarters cut up to make large blocks.
I'm new to the board and replied but didn't attach it to this post...sorry. I've made one of these quilts...I chose to do a king-size for my first try and it turned out beautifully. I also had trouble understanding the sashing and so I contacted the author and she not only set up a video on YouTube for me she also sent me a sample!

Judi, all of your quilts are beautiful! I love the way you did the 2nd scrappy with the wide strips between the smaller ones. What is the name of the block in the 1st, 2nd and 4th quilts?

Deedum, your quilts are beautiful also. I especially like the 2nd and 3rd ones. What is the name of the blocks? I thinking I'm beginning to fall for scrappy quilts!
