I made Split Decision w/a jelly roll and a couple of bags and disappearing 9 patches w/charms. Charm packs are almost like FQs for me, they aren't too expensive.

I've made an around the world quilt from the jelly rolls stich the strips together then make a tube & cut . next pick the color you want to start with & seperate the top from the bottom you have your first row continue moving down a square each time until the end of tube. Do this in four sections then do the middle section fast & easy

I like the charm packs and have used them in the past, but now if I have enough left-over fabric from a project, I'll go ahead and cut 5" squares. Then they go in a box for another project for another day!

I am hooked on jelly rolls and have made several quilts with them. It would take me forever to find so many fabrics that blend! I always buy Moda they are always very accurate.I want to make the 10minute blocks with the layer cakes. Looks like a very quick quilt!

I am refusing to buy them anymore - every one I ever bought were cut wrong, had v's in them weren't the correct size or something, so now if I want strips, I cut my own

Personally I would rather buy yardage. I believe the precut fabrics are more expensive. Buying yardage allows me to add to my stash.
I purchased a "layer cake" for the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt I'm working on. There were 40 10" squares, and 31 beautiful coordinated fabrics. I don't think I have ever been in a quilt store that carried 31 fabrics from the same line that match so beautifully. For me it was a great convenience.

I have only used Moda, and have not had this problem at all.

I just bought my first jelly roll. It was reduced at the LQS. I'm going to start it on Monday. - Cynthia

I LOVE THEM...they make life so much easier when you need to make a quick quilt or you want to make a quilt using all the fabrics from a certain line...they usually have all the fabrics from one line and it looks beautiful....I have tons of them and I also make my own sometimes from fabrics I have left....try it..you'll love it..blessings
