I have them and I use them, because I would hate to replace them all, but yes , I do have trouble seeing thru those thick lines, sometimes I go 1/4'' over and use the thiner lines.

i have used them for years and prefer over all others. however, i don't like the new green band on them. i find it hard to see to line up. so i like the older ones.
i only buy other brands if they are a speciality ruler. For example I bought the one that supposed to sharpen your rotary cutter blade. but I bought it because it is the longest I could find and i wanted the lengh. I do buy others but only for speciality cutting

However, it is a good idea to find one brand you like and stick with that brand.

i line up my fabric in the black lines that come together, like bulls eyes. easy to do. well actually i do that when cutting some measurement plus a quarter or half inch.

If you have astigmatism, you will have trouble with the yellow/green lines. Try using painter's tape on the lines you wish to cut to and should be better. OR go buy the black lined ones. I use all types and love eeach one for different reasons.

Hate em. Sure wish I had not gotten one 24". Can't see a darn thing through it. Waste of money for me.

I'm so glad to see that other people have a lamp on their cutting table. I thought I was the only one that did that. Guess I'm pretty normal after all.
