Have Omni-grids and mono vision also. No problems with Omni-grids, but may be because I never detail cut or sew with contacts in. I use my readers instead and get much sharper close-up vision. I think mono vision messes with depth perception, which OK for regular stuff, but not OK when accuracy is super important.

    Try Creative Grid.
They are the ruler of choice in our LQS .Quilter switched from Omnigrid so we no longer carried them.

Wonderful idea. I sew in the dining room and just have the chandelier. It casts a shadow of the arms of the lamp. I think I'll steal your idea and use anther lamp there when I'm sewing/cutting.

I use an Omnigrid and do like it.

I don't care for them either because I wear glasses. Creative Grids are the ones I prefer.

I use mine all the time, and like them.
does a friend have a different brand you could try? I do all my new students to look at all the brands available and chose one that works for them and stay with it.

I find the yellow lines very distracting. I look down at the ruler and it's as if those gawdy yellow lines scream at me and I have a hard time concentrating on the line I need to use. I try to avoid that brand.

I use the OmniGRIP version. My hands are not real strong because of arthritis. These rulers have a very slight raised rubbery grid on the side that faces the fabric, which prevents the ruler from moving around. I wouldn't use anything else!
