You only need to buy the 6 inch ruler unless you are working on very long sections... I just slide it along perfectly.. I"m lost without it!

Carol also has an on-line Yahoo group. There's a lot of interaction and Carol put up new patterns (for members) every month or so.
It's a wonderful group and if you are interested in paper piecing this is the place to go!!
I started a PP project about 5 yrs ago, can you say UFO... I chose to work on UFOs and it just happened I decided to finish ....Now, there's a story here...remember when PP you will need extra material!!!
I, however, (clearing throat here) ran out of fabric for one of the 'strips' ....eee-gads! I always buy 1 yd minimum but most of the time I purchase 2 yrds. Yes, it's too much but it's a carry-over from sewing my own clothes for so many years; 2 yds will make anything I want...so it was/is a habit. So, how did I go wrong??? Since the fabric is now 5 yrs old there is no more... Thank goodness it's only a tabletopper...
Tucson's Quilt Show is this weekend, maybe I can find something 'close' to the polka-dots I used...it could happen...
Here's the link for Carol's group, be sure to join us!
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CarolDoakQuiltingGroup/
There's also a few Free Patterns available to anyone from Carol's home page: http://www.caroldoak.com/free-quilt-patterns.php
Use up some scraps and give it a try...You'll like it!

I just ordered the 6" and 12" lip rulers and some foundation paper about 1 hr. ago. I checked out vellum and other papers for sale. Order checked out through www.softexpressions.com. I found that Carol Doak's paper and you get 100 sheets for $8.96 on sale. All the other papers were only 30 sheets for about the same price. Shipping however is expensive - $11.55 by regular mail.

I just love paper piecing, and it was both a Carol Doak book and DVD that got me going on it. It is an amazing process, and almost always results in pieces that my friends look at and say "Oh My Gosh, I could NEVER do something like that". But, of course they could

You may also want to check out the Office supply stores and Walmart or with JoAnn's coupon it's a real deal.
I buy Helilx vellum, 25% rag paper, 50 sheets for $2.00 to $3.00 [no shipping...LoL]. Watch for it on those end-isle sale racks ;) (not advertised).
