    It will work fine. Have some fun, you can always add a little batting between the camo and the moose.

    Wash the fabric first, it will make a great heavier quilt.

    Thanks for all the replies. I already washed & dried both the twill & flannel. All ready to appliqué the moose.

    Use it! As you have said it is for GGD, not a show piece or a family heirloom. ( this is one reason I can not buy fabric online, I never pay enough attention to details )

    I think I would go ahead and use it as you suggested with a moose head appliqued on the front, the flannel will make it comfy.

    Since your DGD wanted a camp quilt, my guess she already knows the type of fabric and is going to love it!

    In 1971 a friend made a baby quilt of twill wight with appliqué for my son. I used it for several years for him and since then used it for my grandson. It has held up beautiful and will be used for the next generation. It was a little heavier than other quilts but didn't make that much difference.
