    what kind of patterns are you making with layer cakes? i have found a couple patterns, but looking for input from those who have made projects using cakes.....???

    I love using layer cakes! So much fun!

    Here is a pattern using one layer cake for two projects.

    I have a Breakfast at Tiffany's layer cake and will make a rail fence after watching the MSQC video.

    I just posted a picture today of one I just pieced (Hexagon Hip Hop) - you beat me to it with the link Omak!
    It's an excellent pattern - the offcuts from the half hexagons are used up in the border strips, so there was no waste. There are several other good ones in the book too.

    alimaui--thanks 4 all those links--those pinwheels are great! love those colorful ones...
    have been looking on moda's bakeshop site but am wondering when they posted all those new ones!!! all i kept seeing was those Boxes! those little 4patches are cute, too...

    you know, i happened to see that right after i posted my quest!
    i like that first top, although it looks like you slice/dice quite a bit! the hex top just isn't my "speed", although i do like your color combinations!
