I have to agree with you about the seam rippers...I particularly love the one by Fons and Porter...have bought about 5 of them, I think(both for myself and as gifts). I also love having a small, sharp pair of scissors and a great pair of ergonomic tweezers(I don't like lose threads that I rip out). Oh, and I love all my Creative Grids rulers!

    All you have listed plus...

    1/4 inch foot
    starch
and my scissors attached to my shirt. I use them A LOT and have to have them right by my side so I don't loose them.

Since I started out with nothing but a sewing machine, I've learned I can make do without anything except:
    GOOD CLEAN, CLEAR LIGHTING AND
    ADEQUATE WORK SPACE

Besides most everything mentioned, my starch of choice is Faultless Maxx,it is a liquid starch in a black spray bottle, does not flake, will really make fabric stiff. Find it at Walmart.

My bendable light (separate from machine) is always on, seam rippers, small scissors, iron and starch, 6" ruler, pins.....I think that just about finishes my list....LOL
