Why do people

I had this one lady come into to where I worked ask me all about the t shirt quilts I make she asked all kinds of questions spent about 15 minutes questioning when she could get three and about how they are made and then she never showed back up and I finally realized she was picking my brain on how to make them ticked me off so I know longer give details just basic info

Hen3rietta, I agree entirely with you. If quiltmaking is your business (i.e. you are making quilts for money) be prepared to conduct yourself as any other business. Have a formula worked out that is reasonable and is priced competitively as other homemade quilts - research on ebay or ask your LQS for comparable prices. You might want to educate your buyers (if they are not aware already) that a custom home-made quilt is more expensive than a factory-made quilt you might purchase in a department store. Since I make quilts for pure delight I always say thank you for liking my quilt so much and that I am flattered by their interest, but it is simply an expression of my passion and joy.

Thank you for posting this thread, it reminded me that I hadn't gotten back to a QB member. I sent her a pm and apologized and I hope that she understands why it took so long. It was not my intention to be rude, but thank you for reminding me.

Had a person who sad "what are you out of your mind" So I told her tell me what you want exactly. I will tell you how much material you will need and what ever other supplies needed. If you want I will go with to help with picking the material. Told her I would figure out about how much time it would take and charge for my time for cutting and making it, so we went to buy the fabric and after she say the cost per yard of what she wanted . So she said she now knows why we charge so much as she put it.

Some people do not understand the concept that you are in business...a fair profit for you, the business person, is what business is all about...cheer up, not everyone is like that...   Naomi
