Yea Sometimes I wonder wy when I am rotary cutting I look like a contourtionist (spelling?) trying to bend the body and arms over eachother instead of planning my cutting board, fabric, ruler etc into a position that is easy to cut.

I agree with Edie Clay. I enjoy holding my quilts a bit before I give them away. I do baby quilts with a fancy stitch by machine. The big quilts look so finished on the front when done by hand. It is just what is easiest for you! I have done several humanitarian quilts and I always do them by machine.

CKCOWL I'm with you a 100 percent! Stitch in the ditch, I wish! Just looks better for me to hand stitch.

I machine stitch everything I can. I have bursitis in my shoulder and hand stitching just kills it. I go very slow stitching my binding so that it looks almost as good as hand stitching.

There are no quilt police! Just do what feels & looks right to you!!! :D
I do the same, except my hands will not allow me to do much handwork anymore so I always sew the binding to the back and bring it to the front and use a decorative stitch to sew it down. If it is'nt perfect on the back no one will see it.

The way I attach the binding, sewing by hand, lasts and lasts. Have never ran into difficulty.

Too funny! I machine quilt my binding on for this same reason! It looks reeeealllly bad when I try to do it by hand, plus I just don't have the patience!
I sew it on to the top with 1/4 inch, then fold it over to the back, pin the heck out of it, and SitD on the front, being sure to catch the binding on the back.
To each their own! We all just need to do what works for us! :D
I'm with Heather Quilts. I don't have the patience to hand sew it and when I do it just doesn't look that great. I always sew mine on by machine.
