Ditto. I love fat quarter bundles. I wouldn't be able to afford all the prints in a half yard or full yard bundle so fat quarters provides the fabric fix I need from time to time.

One of the prettiest quilts I've ever made (if I do say so myself) was nothing but FQs. If you need an actual yard, buy it. But entire quilts can be made from FQs.

Generally speaking, quilts with only a few fabrics bore me. I like fat quarters as a way of getting a huge amount of variety -- the more variety in the fabrics, the more gradation of color and movement to keep it visually interesting. Plus I find the construction process much more fun and interesting when I have to make color decisions with basically every piece. I almost never buy yardage -- between buying remnants, fat quarters and precut bundles, I get a lot of interesting variety.

I do not have a stash. Fat quarters work well for when I need small amounts of a variety of fabrics.

I don't normally buy fat quarters always 1/2metre lengths or more. I find if I see a fabric I like I want to use it more than once. I always buy backing fabric as and when I need it.
But doing a quilt for a friend who wants seaside dogs and horses in it so I have purchased FQ to make centre squares.

I like to make samplers. A stack of coordinating FQs is a lot more fun to play with that just a few fabrics. Then I get to start each block with the fun of picking through a bin of fabrics to find just what I want.

I have developed a problem with those bundles - I can't stop buying them !!! They are sitting in a basket on my sewing room counter, looking very pretty !! I'm sure eventually i will use these, but for now, oh so pretty !!!

Yellow Brick Road calls for 18 fat quaters, 9 dark and 9 light. That's why I collect fat quarters.

I have made several quilts, purses, potholders, table runners & on & on with fat quarters. I do mostly buy yardage but I also have a lot of FQ. It is surprising what you can make from them. Also I love the variety. They are just so pretty!

I love FQs because they give me a lot of fabric variety for little cost.
