    Okay you guys are going to die on this one and think "this guy is out of his mind" BUT..............

    I never prewash fabrics but if I think that they might bleed in the wash then I will hand wash them out in the wash tub with my 120yo wash board just like my GG-Ma did.

    I do kinda the same thing billy, but i just do it in my kitchen sink. and let it soak for a couple of hours in luke warm water. and drain and repeat till the water stays relatively clean for two draining s. My hubby isn't too thrilled with this. but what can he do. hehe. he doesn't do the dishes or clean up the kitchen so he can complain all he wants. until he is ready to do something i wont listen.
