When my mother was here visiting, I sent her home with so much material/thread/carriers, it was a good thing she had a back seat in her car to carry it all home! I'm blessed with gifts of material, ribbons, etc., my thoughts are "why not give back" so once in a while that's what I do. You will never be without when you give from within.

I really like buying from the Quilt Board sale area. I have had great success with finding fabric that I couldn't find as inexpensively and the purchases have arrived quickly, well packed, and have been just as advertised. So, I go through and look for fabric for some of my projects, find it, order it, and it has always been here with in 3-4 days.

Do not wonder "why, oh why?" Just wander on over and buy, buy, buy.

    Default excess fabric

Why do so many give the impression that it is "wrong" to try to sell it instead of giving it away?

If I bought a new car - and no longer have room for the old one - "should" I donate it?

I could, but would that be the first suggestion from 80% of my acquaintances?

You need to get this (and maybe some more of your rhyming works) into the poetry sticky section. I think is under theVintage sewing machine site.

I very much agree with bearisgray. I have never sold fabric, but only because I can't bare to part with what I have I do share with DD however. And vise-versa.

I have limited space so when my stash overgrows or I have fabric I don't think I will use, I have to thin out. Living on a very limited budget, if I can sell it for a few bucks, then I can indulge myself in some other fabric.
I try to make quilts to please the recipients so sometimes I need specific fabrics and luck out and find them here on the board.
I also love to buy here when I can as the prices can be very reasonable and there are lots of choices.
