I went to a garage sale recently and the garage was full of tables piled high with double knit material. I heard the "daughter" of the house tell somebody that her dad let her mother buy so much material because IT MADE HER SO HAPPY! I certainly hope that it did make her happy.

When you find material you love how much do you buy?

I took all my double knits to Goodwill years ago. Now I have a stash of all cottons and I am proud of it. I have always stocked up on food when I had extra money and it has always seen me through times when money was tight (and that was frequently). Personally, I have no problem building a stash of fabric when I have the money to do so. When I get ready to start a project, I do not want to have to go shopping, I want to start the process immediately.

While my stash will probably never put some I have seen on this board to shame, I am rather proud of it and continue to add to it at every opportunity. No problem here with stashing as long as I make use of it from time to time.

I always thought it was that you cannot die as long as you have fabric!
