I have gotten fabric because I really like the design but wasn't sure how or where I'd use it. I've been lucky some of the time that I did find a use for it and when I needed more and went back to get it they still had more and there are times when they didn't have more. I'm organizing my sewing room and going thru things and have gotten shelves to put things on and now I'm seeing fabric that I didn't even know I had. It's so exciting. Two weeks ago I got a pattern to make a blouse and thought I'd have to make time to pick out fabric; I found some that is perfect in my stash. I don't think anything is too pretty to be cut but I do think some of it is too pretty to just cut for any old thing just because it might go with it. I want a pattern as nice as the fabric is. Yes, I know I'm long winded. You can imagine how I am in person about something I enjoy.

I WISH I had the budget to buy all the fabric I love! But alas, I have to be extemely frugal.

Tealady -I like that. I'll have a HUGE quilt of a yard of this, 4 yds of that, a fq here and there and on and on.

Yes, I did that for 40 years. I HAVE WAY TOO MUCH FABRIC BUT GUESS WHAT?

Now cotton is $10 a yard, and I am sewing from stash and happy to have it. Woohoo! I FEEL LIKE I AM SITTING ON A GOLD MINE.

About 3 years ago I bought 'several' yards of a beautiful pink and green toile. Thought I would use it for backing, but I just could not make myself use a hugh piece of it. I have used it in several quilts, however, as the center medallion or a border or just in blocks. I still have about 3 yds. Will be so sorry when it is all gone.
