I finish one before I start another, only when a needed one comes up suddenly. Then I go right back to it, doesn't happen often.

I don't think it's about catching up. I think it's more about enjoying the journey, & it sounds like you are! You might try, keep one on the frame, to work, & one you making, at the same time. Then you can switch back & forth, & not get tired of either, depending on your mood...

Not just quilting either! Now that the kids are raised and DH knows he can survive without being up my butt all day I am getting very selfish with my time. I am a member of many community programs. I am giving up most of them. Just not enough time to committee fundraisers, festivals, activities, events and do so much planning. I can sponsor, that's easy just write a check! LOL I plan on doing what I want to do with every minute of my day and say "No I don't want to" much much more.

oh...were we supposed to get caught up?? I thought always having more on your list than you could accomplish was the insurance that you'd live to be very, very old.....If we ever got caught up, wouldn't the world stop turning???

And what fun would it be to get caught up? You always have something to do!!!! I can't tell you how many "to do" lists I've made and haven't finished!! My friend is always reminding me of the promised projects that she'll probably never see. Oh, well. At least I have tomorrow.

Okay I don't want to be responsible for the world to stop turning.
So I will not worry about finishing my 8 tops to quilt, 4 UFO, 2 PHD and 3 PIGS. And then there is my 'to-do' list.

I agree - it's enjoying the journey. There is no such thing as catching up because your love of quilting will always have your mind thinking of the next project.

YES!!!!! Make quilting tops as your next project. Put the peicing project on the bottom of the to-do list and a make UFO you priority. Then start over with tops and so goes the cycle.
