I bought some Mini Cooper fabric off ebay to make my mom a quilt. I got it today and it is a lot thicker than normal quilting fabric. The description on ebay said it was 6oz. I have no idea what that means. My question is will it be okay to use in a quilt? I haven't decided exactly what pattern or how I'm going to use it yet. My mom bought me the twister tool so I'm thinking about using that, but don't want to break cut the fabric up too much.
Would it help if I included a picture? I think the fabric is leftovers from making shirts, I don't know for sure though.

In my opinion I think you can use anything in a quilt, if your sewing machine will sew through it and YOU like it, go for it!

You can certainly use it in a quilt. I would however not use really light-weight fabric to combine with it.

I had some very light-weight batiste that I wanted to use with fabrics that were regular good quality quilting fabric and I used the lightest weight iron-on Pellon to bring the batiste up on par with the rest.

Thanks for your replies! I will have to look for some good quality quilting fabric to pair with it.
