    Default Will this work?

I am making this for a friend to give to her niece as a gift. The front of the quilt is very masculine...the back I wanted a little softer. With the front being so square and hard - will the back look ok with the swirls? Its hard to see - bad lighting - but the brown has blue swirls the same as the middle fabric.

Do you think it will be ok?

i don't think it's too masculine. if you wanted to make it a tad more feminine, shape your label like a flower or paper doll.

Sure! I usually do swirls or softer wavy lines on geometric piecing like that. It nicely mixes together! Whoops, I think I misunderstood--your proposed backing fabric blends great with the front. New and contrasting fabrics on the back add overall interest to a quilt, I think.

I think it looks terrific! I've never been a girly girl. Don't need pink to define me. It will be loved.

I love it! I think she will be very happy with a quilt as pretty as this. I agree with Boston1954...Never been a girly girl and have very little pink or girly stuff!

I think I remember you being worried about this quilt as you were piecing it, but it looks great. Your friend's niece will love it! Your choice for the back looks really good too. I think you can quit worrying about this beauty...
