With or without yellow roses - your advice please

Below is the block I made for my stitchin sister exchange. My person's block was anything TX. I digitized this block and paper pieced the flying geese. The question is, do you think I should also add the fabric yellow roses or leave it alone? If adding roses, which placement do you like best?

The block is lovely, without the roses. But they do add a nice punch of colour (helpful, right?
) If you add them, I like the second layout best. It looks like they are supported by the flag stand that way.
Edited to add: 3rd picture. Second layout with roses. I like the 2 on top and 3 clustered in the lower left.

It's THE yellow rose of Texas, so I'd see how just one looks - maybe at the top left corner of the support. And add a little green leaf or two. Are the three smaller ones separate - maybe one of them??
