My sewing room has carpet -- the house came with it. I think I would go with either wood or vinyl if I had a choice since I have a real problem rolling my chair on the plastic thing I put on top of the carpet (it was worse before I put that plastic thing down).

I have carpet also -- would rather have tile or wood but it gets cold here in the winter so carpeting adds a layer of warmth.

That is my issue as well. The room will be so cold with just the wood floors.

You all are helping me. Thank you!

easier for me to sweep than vacuum. I don't notice the cold when i wear slippers, but then again, i live in a very temperate region.

I have carpet in my sewing room, I dislike it. All the threads stick to it, it seems. Also, hard to move the chair around. It is warm though to the feet if you don't step on pins and needles. I am thinking tile.

Had very old shag carpet.....ripped it out and refinished the hardwood floor underneath....Love the new floor....so easy to keep clean!

I have a basement sewing room. It has an indoor /outdoor very low pile type of carpet. It does help to keep the feet a bit warmer. Not to bad on the clean-up. Its been there for 20 years and still looks pretty good.

I have a wood floor in my present sewing room. In my previous sewing room, I had carpet. To be honest, I like both. With the carpet, I was careful to not let threads fall on the floor as they were a pain to unwind from the vacuum cleaner. With the wood floor, I have to be careful that I don't drop scissors on it as they land straight up sticking in the floor. That damages both my floor and the scissors. I am just so happy to have a sewing room that I can live with any floor.

Wood floor, but I have a small area rug under my sewing chair so the wheels don't scratch the floor.

My feet get super cold easy so I am a carpet girl all the way. I am really careful about my pins for that reason
