OK... so it needs refinishing and it needs a belt, but I bought a Singer treadle sewing machine this afternoon for...drum roll please...TEN DOLLARS!!!!!!! I can refinish it myself, and my sister-in-law told me of a place where she got her's repaired for $40. I don't have any pics yet but will post them as soon as I do. I'm so excited!! So did I do good? :c)

You sure did! I'd give anything to have one like the one my Nana sewed on. It would have come in handy on the SIX days we were without power this past week LOL.

Good for you. I stopped at a yard sale Friday and they had a treadle for sale. She said "it works good". Then she showed me the bobbin and told me she couldn't figure out how to put it in. I wondered how she knew it sewed good without a bobbin. The cabinet was in fairly good condition, but the entire thing was pretty dirty, and she wanted $125 for it. I didn't buy it. Do you think I passed up a good deal?
