Wonderful for you: My Aunt Pauline had one of those machines and may God rest her soul. She sewed everything on it. (Made her own clothes). My Grandma had one too: What a fabulous find:::: Happy Refinishing Days to come:

I have bad news. The man at the sewing center called me Friday night and told me that the sewing machine is locked up. He got it about halfway unlocked, but said there were 2 bolts that need to be taken off, and they're frozen. He said he spent an hour and a half greasing them, torching them, and trying everything he knew to try and couldn't get them to budge. He said if he forced them, he was positive that it would break the entire bed off of the machine. He said he could keep trying if I like, but he could guarantee that it would cost a lot more than I was willing to pay, and even then he wasn't sure he could get it working. I'd be paying him for his labor for nothing. His recommendation.....take it to the dump. I'm soooooooooo disapointed!!! *sob*

I'm so sorry for you - That really is a shame. Can you salvage it just for display?
Don't give up looking - another will surely come your way, but perhaps not at the bargain this one was. I watched for over a year for my bargain treadle.
