My neighbor and I were working on some projects for Christmas. She accidently picked up my good scissors with her things and took them home. She let her kids cut wire with them for a school project before she returned them.

I found my DD -adult by the way- using them to cut lilac branches. When I screamed Nooooooo, my DIL said, "What? They're just scissors." They said it's the only ones they could find. They were in a drawer -NEW -in the pkg! Yet there sat the old kitchen shears right there on the kitchen counter.

My husband used in ginghers to cut fiberglass ceiling tiles. Couldn't use them after that until i got them sharpened. Kids used to take the good scissors to cut paper until i laid down the law. no one touches them now.

I raised my children to know better than to ever use my sewing scissors but I caught my husband attempting to cut wire with them. I rescued them just he was starting to make the attempt. Some bell went off in my head and made me look at him. The scissors survived, he thinks I'm crazy as I wasn't nice, and he won't do it again.
